Oyo/Osun Customs Intensifies Security Collaboration with NSCDC, Correctional Service

The Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command, has intensified efforts to strengthen security collaboration with sister agencies in the State following a series of courtesy visits to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) led by the Acting Customs Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole

Speaking during the visits, the Acting Area Controller reiterated the Command’s commitment to stronger inter-agency cooperation, noting that effective security management requires sustained partnership, intelligence sharing, and coordinated operational responses among relevant government agencies.

DC Adewole stressed that the Nigeria Customs Service remains committed to working closely with sister agencies to combat smuggling, secure national borders, and promote lawful trade.

According to him, the visits were part of the Command’s broader strategy to consolidate existing partnerships and build stronger channels of communication for coordinated responses to security challenges within Oyo and Osun States.

In response, the leadership of the NSCDC and the Nigerian Correctional Service commended the initiative and reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining cordial working relationships with the Nigeria Customs Service in pursuit of shared national objectives.

While reiterating the resolve to sustain and deepen inter-agency collaboration, the Oyo/Osun Area Command maintained that such cooperation remains vital to effective security administration and the protection of government interests and the general public.

The courtesy visit, which aimed at strengthening institutional relationships and enhancing operational synergy among sister security agencies in the discharge of their statutory duties, underscored the Command’s commitment to deeper collaboration.
