. Celebrates women's strength, expertise, and invaluable contributions to the maritime industry
As Nigeria joined the global community to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March 2026, the Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola has reaffirmed commitment to inclusivity.
This is the Agency’s resolve to create an environment where everyone, especially women, feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute and grow in the maritime industry.
Dr. Mobereola lauded women’s strength, expertise, and invaluable contributions to the maritime industry, noting that this year’s theme, GiveToGain, reflects their daily impact.
The DG highlighted women’s professionalism, leadership, and resilience across sea-going, regulatory, technical, and administrative roles, stressing their excellence drives progress, innovation, and sustainable growth to the sector.
“On behalf of NIMASA Management, I commend your dedication and reaffirm our commitment to a maritime industry where every woman is empowered to lead and thrive,” he concluded.
International Women’s Day 2026 features two major, complementary themes: “Give To Gain” the campaign theme, focusing on investing in women for collective, reciprocal, and societal growth, and the UN theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”, aimed at dismantling structural barriers.
