Media Anti-Corruption Group Takes Proactive Step to Prevent NSW Future Glitch
Sets April 15 for Seminar to design tamper-proof strategies for effective rollout of the NSW.
The Media Anti-Corruption Initiatives (MACI), in partnership with Hynek Media, has announced a one-day seminar dedicated to protecting the Federal Government’s flagship trade facilitation project, the National Single Window (NSW).
Scheduled for Wednesday, 15 April 2026, at Rockview Hotel, Apapa GRA, Lagos with the theme: “National Single Window: Strategies to Avert Failure”, the seminar will convene policymakers, regulators, private sector leaders, and civil society to design tamper-proof strategies for the effective rollout of the NSW.
The NSW aims to centralise import, export, and transit documentation, streamline processes, reduce duplication, and enhance transparency. Officials project that the initiative could lower transaction costs by up to 25% and increase government revenue by as much as 20%.
However, experts caution that Nigeria’s history of reform setbacks underscores the need for strong safeguards against corruption and institutional rivalry.

A press statement jointly issued by Mr. Lod Onyeji, Coordinator, Mr. Funso Olojo, Secretary, and Reverend John Iwori, hinted that the one-day event will be chaired by Aare Hakeem Olanrewaju, Chairman, Customs Consultative Committee while Hon. Kingsley Igwe, Registrar, CRFFN will co-chair the seminar. The Chief Guest of Honour is Dr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service while the Special Guest of Honour is Mr. Tola Fakolade, Director, National Single Window.
Other Dignitaries expected to grace the occasion are Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, MD, Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, DG, NIMASA , Dr. Pius Akutah MON, ES, Nigerian Shippers Council, Alhaji Umar Yusuf Girei, Acting MD, NIWA, as well as Mrs. Adesuwa Ladoja, MD, Lagos Free Trade Zone.
The statement noted that bub-themes will include Transparency in Single Window Project – A Key to Sustainability, and Inter-Agency Rival-Free Collaboration for NSW Success.
The seminar will feature insights from Customs controllers, freight forwarders’ associations, indigenous terminal operators, and regulators. Discussions will also spotlight the Lagos Free Zone Green Channel initiative as a model for seamless trade facilitation.
Organisers emphasised that the event offers a rare opportunity to align government agencies, private operators, and civil society around a shared vision for a transparent, efficient, and corruption-free trade ecosystem.
