COWA Oyo/Osun Chapter Expands Social Impact, Supports Vulnerable Children, Widows

The Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Oyo/Osun Chapter, has stepped up its humanitarian interventions with outreach visits to vulnerable children and widows, reinforcing its commitment to social welfare and inclusion.

Led by its Chairperson, Mrs. Omowunmi Adewole, the association visited the Ibadan Motherless Babies Home and the House of Providence Special School for Children with Intellectual Disability, where members engaged with residents and provided support aimed at improving their well-being.

Speaking during the visits, Adewole commended the National President of COWA, Dr. Mrs. Adeniyi Kikelomo, for her leadership and continued support, noting that her guidance has remained a driving force behind the association’s activities nationwide.

She explained that the outreach was designed to promote compassion, inclusion, and care for children in underserved communities, particularly those in motherless homes and with special needs. According to her, every child deserves the opportunity to grow in a supportive environment and feel valued in society.

Adewole added that the association remains committed to its core values of discipline, respect, and selfless service, which align with the ideals of the Nigeria Customs Service.

As part of the visits, gift items were presented to the children to support their welfare and development, while caregivers and management staff of the institutions were praised for their dedication and impactful service.

Beyond the institutional visits, the association also extended support to widows of Customs officers, presenting them with items as part of efforts to enhance their welfare and ensure they remain supported within the Customs community.

Reaffirming the association’s commitment to sustained humanitarian engagement, Adewole stressed that consistent acts of kindness can foster hope and drive positive change in society.

The outreach featured goodwill messages and interactions with beneficiaries, underscoring COWA’s resolve to expanding its social impact.
