Adeniyi also underscored the role of strategic communications in driving key reforms within the Service.
The CGC made the commitment on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at Customs House, Maitama, Abuja, when he hosted a high level delegation led by the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, Professor Justin Green, alongside the President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Chairman of the Council, Ike Neliaku.
He highlighted major reforms undertaken by the Service to include B’Odogwu, the Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programme and Advance Ruling.
Adeniyi said the measures were part of efforts to improve Customs processes, provide greater predictability for legitimate traders and strengthen the relationship between the Service and its stakeholders.
While speaking on the forthcoming World PR forum, the CGC, who also doubles as the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council Chair, said the NCS recognised the importance of the event and its potential in bringing global attention to responsible communication, institutional trust and effective public service.
“And, I want to assure you of the Service’s support for the forthcoming event and its commitment to contributing to its success,” Adeniyi added.
Also, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management, Professor Justin Green said hosting WPRF 2026 in Nigeria will be a significant milestone for the country and the public relations profession in Africa.
Professor Green said the forum would provide a global platform to showcase Nigeria’s cultural heritage, communication industry and innovative approaches to public relations, while creating opportunities for knowledge-sharing, professional collaboration and dialogue on the future of communication, stating, “We are expecting all the 126 member countries of the Global Alliance to grace this forum.”
