Oyo/Osun Area Command Deepens Excise Collaboration with International Breweries, Ilesa

As part of continued efforts to strengthen collaboration with excise factories and key stakeholders, the Acting Customs Area Controller, Oyo/Osun Area Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Wale Moses Adewole, on Tuesday 14 April 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the International Breweries Plc plant in Ilesa, Osun State.

During the visit, DC Wale Adewole emphasised the importance of compliance with excise laws and regulations, noting that adherence is critical to revenue generation and the national economic stability.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to facilitating legitimate trade while ensuring strict enforcement of government fiscal policies.

The acting Area Controller commended International Breweries Plc for its contributions to the economy, particularly in the areas of employment generation and enhancing the revenue generation profile of the Command.

Adewole encouraged the company’s management to sustain its level of compliance and maintain transparency in its operations.

In his response, the manager of Ilesha, International Breweries Plc, Mr Emmanuel Onabanjo expressed appreciation for the visit, describing it as timely and impactful.

He reaffirmed the factory’s commitment to maintaining a cordial working relationship with the Nigeria Customs Service and pledged continued compliance with all regulatory requirements.

The visit created an avenue for both parties to engage in constructive dialogue, address operational challenges, and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation.

It also reflects the Command’s resolve to remain committed to stakeholder engagement, trade facilitation, and the enforcement of fiscal policies in line with the mandate of the Nigeria Customs Service.
