Jean Chiazor Anishere, SAN, on Thursday, 4 December 2025, was elected President of Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria, MAAN, during the 19th Annual General Meeting, AGM held at DRV Chambers, Oniru Estate, Lagos.
Anishere, who is currently the Vice Chairman of Nigerian Ports Consultative Council, NPCC, and also the immediate past Vice President of MAAN, got endorsement from Adedoyin Rhodes Vivour and other members to become the new president of the association.

In her acceptance speech, Anishere revealed that the day marked exactly 20 years the association was established, stating, “I felt so highly honoured to be elected to serve as the President of MAAN”.
The new MAAN President urged her predecessors including Mr. Bodunrin Adewole to support and collaborate with her for the upliftment of the association.

“I want to task you all not to leave me all alone while in the saddle as the President; I am humbly calling on the immediate past President, my predecessor and as well, I implore all our past Presidents to please, kindly let us do this ‘presidency’ together so we can all record success.
”Firstly, I thank GOD Almighty, creator of Heavens and earth for today. I also thank you all for the success of today which actually marked 20 years of starting off this association.
“This means I am also getting old already even though no grey hairs yet, but I am definitely getting older myself,” she said.
Other members of the executives elected with Anishere include: Osuala Nwagbara as Vice President; Mrs. Foluke Akinmoladun asSecretary; and Chief Ben Onwuma as Treasurer.
The meeting concluded on a positive note with assurance that all hands will be on deck for the success of the association.
