Comptroller Wadinda Hands Over LIAC to Salawu with Impressive Contribution to ‘Customs Care’ Initiative

The Lagos Industrial Area Command (LIAC), of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has on Monday 8 September 2025, witnessed a brief leadership transition as Comptroller Sarah Mamza Wadinda formally handed over to Comptroller Adebola Salawu. This is shortly after Comptroller Wadinda’s notable contributions to ‘Customs Cares’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
Comptroller Wadinda (Rtd) had in August 2025, commissioned Festac Senior Grammar School, constructed and installed a water treatment plant; established an electronic library; provided a photocopier; refurbished and painted some areas of the school including the school toilet, before her retirement.
According to a statement signed by the Command’s spokesperson, Superintendent of Customs Juliana Tomo, the outgoing Controller noted that the CSR project was carried out in collaboration with some stakeholders of the command.
In her farewell speech, Comptroller Wadinda expressed profound gratitude to the Comptroller General of Customs Adewale Adeniyi MFR for the confidence reposed on her to serve at the Lagos Industrial Area Command.

In her remarks, the incoming Customs Area Controller, Comptroller ADEBOLA SALAWU commended the achievements of her predecessor and prayed for success in her future endeavors.
Comptroller Salawu urged all Officers to embrace the newly introduced indigenous platform, Unified Customs Management System (UCMS) codenamed B’Odogwu, emphasising on Officers and Stakeholders engagement to enhance excise performance towards the economic growth of the nation.
The event was graced by Senior Officers of the Command and Heads of Units.
