CAC Gambo Aliyu Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthen Ties with DSS, FRSC in Oyo State

The Customs Area Controller of Oyo/Osun Area Command, Comptroller Gambo Iyere Aliyu, has reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Oyo State.
Comptroller Aliyu made the reaffirmation on Monday, 29th September 2025, when he led his management team on a courtesy visit to the DSS and FRSC offices in Ibadan.
In a statement made available by the Command’s spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Customs I, Akintola Abiodun Abdulmalik, the Comptroller was warmly received at the DSS office by the State Director, Mr. Rahim Adelakun.
The Area Controller commended the DSS for its unwavering dedication to protecting lives and property.
He noted that the Service’s tireless efforts continue to contribute immensely to peace, stability, and socio-economic growth in the country.

He also emphasised the vital role of the Nigeria Customs Service in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.
Comptroller Aliyu highlighted the Service’s role in curbing the smuggling of illicit drugs and substandard goods, stressing that such crimes often fuel insecurity in the form of banditry, kidnapping, and terrorism.
During his visit to the Federal Road Safety Corp where he was received by the Sector Commander, Corp Commander Rosemary UK Alo, Comptroller Gambo Iyere Aliyu lauded the agency’s relentless efforts in safeguarding lives through road safety enforcement and public enlightenment campaigns.
He noted that the Corps’ sustained advocacy has significantly reduced road traffic accidents in the state.
He further stressed the importance of inter-agency synergy, affirming that no government agency can function effectively in isolation without the support and cooperation of others.
The visits ended on a positive note with goodwill messages and a renewed pledge of continued commitment from the leadership of DSS and FRSC to strengthening the already existing partnership with the NCS for the collective good of the nation.
